An anti-masker actually named Karen was caught on video resisting arrest for refusing to wear a face covering inside an Ohio supermarket — and snapping at cops, “I can’t wait to sue your ass,” according to a report.
Karen Turner, 55, was asked to leave the Marc’s Deeper Discount in Brook Park on Jan. 18 because she was in violation of its mask policy, Jam Press reported.
The woman refused to leave, so store employees finally called the police.
“So let me ask you this. Is it a law? What’s a federal law that prevents me from wearing a face mask?” Turner asks the cops as she holds up her cell phone to record the encounter.
When the officers explain that it’s not federal law but a state order, she replies: “OK, so you don’t know the law!” She then demands their badge numbers.
After she refused to provide ID, the officers escorted Turner out of the store as she is seen resisting and saying, “I can’t wait to sue your ass.”
The officers took Turner’s phone and placed the handcuffed woman in a patrol car, where one of the cops reached in to take her purse, causing her to begin thrashing.
“Illegal search!” she yelled.
“If you kick me, you’re gonna go to jail,” the officer warned.
“I want my cell phone now!” Turner yelled repeatedly as the officer tries to remove her purse.
“You go through my cell phone, you’re in…” she added but is cut off when the cop slammed the car door.
Turner pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, criminal trespassing, and failure to disclose information, according to WOIO, which cited records filed in Berea Municipal Court.
She was released on a $5,000 bond pending another court appearance on Monday.
In July 2020, Gov. Mike DeWine issued a statewide order requiring everyone to wear masks at all times in public when social distancing is not possible.
Ironically, Turner’s first name is a pejorative term that became a popular meme during the pandemic describing a woman displaying entitlement and privilege.
