A New York City couple picked up a pair of hitchhiking teenagers in Ohio and drove them all the way to a Manhattan hotel for sex — with one of the girls molested in a New Jersey motel along the way, authorities said Tuesday.
Norman Berry, 32, of the Bronx, and Neomia Clay, 37, of Brooklyn, were charged with use of a child in a sexual performance and acting in a manner injurious to a child after cops nabbed the two at the Hampton Inn Hotel on West 41st Street, according to police.
The two girls, ages 14 and 15, were picked up by the pair in Cincinnati and driven to New York — allegedly stopping at a Jersey motel last week, where Berry and another man molested one of the teens, police and prosecutors said.
Berry and the other man, Tyrell Piazza, 31, of Jersey City, were charged in that incident on Tuesday, Hudson Valley prosecutors said.
Berry and Tyrell are accused of giving both teens drugs and alcohol and molesting the older girl in a North Bergen motel, the office said.
Both were charged with sexual assault, criminal sexual conduct, and endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors said in a news release.
In the New York case, Berry and Clay were arrested after the NYPD responded to a 911 call Sunday of possible sex abuse at the Manhattan hotel, where they found the two girls with the couple, police said.
The teens had no obvious signs of injury but were taken to Mount Sinai West hospital for evaluation as a precaution, police said.
The NYPD Special Victims Unit is continuing to investigate the case.
